WHO ARE WE?
Blurred reality are a 3-piece metal band from County Armagh, Northern Ireland. A group of 3 friends who have got together over their similar taste and love for making music. With influences coming from a range of genres from Metal to Jazz. We have much of the same love of music as you reading this right now! Our goal is to not only bring our sound and performance to the masses, but to also bring the music of those around us to the same place. We plan to bring our music, and bring it hard!
CRUGETH STALLIONS
Lead Singer and Bassist
Discovering metal was a turning point in my life, I had never felt such a connection to music, nor even a need to listen to it other than for background noise. But metal was different, it had something more to it. The first metal band that got me into the genre was Eluveitie, a Swiss folk metal outfit. Their composition fascinated me, never did I think two genres of completely different origin could be blended in such an intricate way. I began watching their live shows, being particularly interested in watching the drummer, Merlin Sutter. Just watching him play made me want to take up an instrument. And so my step-dad bought me my first guitar when I was 14 and I fell in love with the instrument. I was always playing and became heavily inspired by the work of Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium who paved the way for how I would write music. For a while I was performing by myself, writing my own music and playing metal covers. I loved it but I always wanted to be in a band, it was my dream. In June 2019 I joined Blurred Reality and I've not looked back. I'm lucky to be working with 2 very talented gentlemen with a great sense of humour, which helps the flow of creativity.
RUAIRI HEANEY
Guitarist
Music was always a part of my life, some of my earliest memories include listening to the Foo Fighter's greatest hits album at an age way to young to understand. At age 10, violin was my introduction to music, which I now look back on as essential for my development, even if I didn't show for most lessons. At that same time I managed to pick up a guitar and started trying to play. 1 month later I gave up. I then moved to secondary school and discovered the likes of 'Avenged Sevenfold' and 'Slipknot'. I was that metal kid out of hundreds of people, and in situations like that it never goes well. Soon after I noticed a few people playing guitar in music class and decided, this was the time to give it another go. For whatever reason, be it the violin lessons or growing up, this time was different. Everything seemed easier and flowed much better. I was having fun, playing Slipknot tunes with strings that just couldn't handle it. The years pass and eventually the idea of a band starts to rattle in my head. It wasn't until meeting Cameron in a simple chance encounter that the idea started to become a vision. It was a struggle for a few years until June 2019, when miracles formed and impossibilities happened and the Mr Crugeth Stallions joined the band. Now it feels complete.
CAMERON JOHNSTON
Drummer
Ever since my dad showed me the video for ‘One’ by Metallica at the age of 5, I’ve been obsessed with metal, and just music in general. Then my dad would go on to show me ‘Enter Sandman’ and other metal anthems, and I knew immediately that music was the way of life for me. My parents would introduce me to many bands in my early years such as, The Beatles, Queen, Nirvana, Megadeth, Foo Fighters, Faith No More and Pearl Jam just to make a few. I started playing guitar when I was 8, but wasn’t really getting anywhere because the lessons were in my primary school, and I was learning nursery rhymes when I wanted to learn how to play Metallica songs. I started playing drums when I was 10. I got my first kit on my 10th birthday. It was then that I truly discovered my talent and that I knew that I would be a fan of music forever. In my early teen years I would discover more bands such as Alice In Chains, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot and Pantera just to name a few. During my early school years, I felt that I was often put down by other people because I ‘didn’t fit in’ or listened to ‘weird’ music. But it’s because of that ‘weird’ music that I was madly in lobe with that I met 2 of the most talented and kindest people I know, that I consider brothers.
AARON FOY
Manager
I met the band just after Crugeth had joined, they played in a nearby venue and I just so happened to be there. As if by miracle, weeks later I find out that me, Crug and Ruairi are all gonna be in the same class for our music course. After getting to know the guys and attending some practices, it just naturally happened that I became manager and started to sort some financials and find gigs.
